After a major restoration project of the stained glass windows that were damaged during Hurricane Rita (2005), the surrounding wood frames were restored. This included stripping the old paint, replacing rotted wood and painting. Once the windows and wood were restored, a new protective glaze system was installed on the exterior. The system was tested during Hurricane Ike (2008) and passed with an A+ rating.
