Most leaded glass windows produced before 2000 are traditional single glazed windows. These traditional windows can weaken over time due to usage when installed in a door. 

This will cause the windows to become loose, start to bow, start to leak and eventually cause glass breakage.

The ultimate upgrade is to turn the window into a 

Triple Glazed Sealed Insulated Unit

This process places the original leaded glass panel between to sheets of clear tempered safety glass and is then sealed to prevent moisture from entering the system.

This protects the leaded glass from blunt impacts like dogs and kids

It also eliminates water leaks and prevents the leaded glass from becoming loose again.

Process:

* Remove Existing glass panel and board up opening 

* Leaded Glass panel must be re-leaded

* Glass is cleaned and cured in drying box to remove moister 

* 2 solid sheets of clear tempered glass are placed on both sides

* Unit is sealed using our Heated Roller Press

The same upgrade can be done if ordering a new custom built leaded or stained glass window in order to meet safety codes and for windows placed in enclosed shower areas

These units are blunt impact resistant and will stop reoccurring damage caused by dogs that jump on the front door every time someone rings your door bell

These also help prevent damage from people knocking on glass, pushing on glass, slamming the door and kids hitting with balls.
